Hey Gang,

We are introducing Erik Brinkman to you as he will be adding a blog to our site on a monthly basis. I was introduced to him by a friend and client in Detroit and I have been 100% impressed with his material. Erik and his partner Allison Dube own a gym in Tecumseh named Body X on Tecumseh Road.

They are both certified under strength and conditioning guru Charles Poliquin. Charles is notably the world’s best strength trainer, hands down. Body X provides certified Biosignature Practitioners which take body fat measurements from 12 different sites on a person’s body. The measurement can then determine your body’s tolerance for certain foods, and in turn develop an eating plan specifically for each individual person. This can help enhance lean body mass and also increase fat loss.

The next step is a Structural Balance which is a series of movements that discovers any weak links in the body. Erik designs workout protocols to strengthen your weaknesses so that your body can function at peak levels.

I have completed my first week of his eating plan as well as getting my structural balance. I can tell you that this plan is the best, and it is proven by the results that I am seeing as well as feeling.

I believe that every athlete should be at least getting a Biosignature and the Structural Balance to complete their workout regime. I also belive that the Biosignature would be the absolute smartest thing for parents who would like to shed a few pounds and live a healthy lifestyle.

Stay tuned for upcoming blogs from Erik, I know you will enjoy it.

Here is Erik’s contact info:
erik@bodyx.ca
519-478-0371

Regards,

Andy Paquette
PowerTech Hockey Group

	 GYM ON ICE
(G.O.I)

With the game of hockey constantly growing so should the training methods. The need for hockey players to be faster, stronger, agile is greater then it ever was.

So why are hockey players training in gyms?

As we can agree that strength training is a huge part of being the complete hockey player. Gyms offer everything that you need as far as strength training is concerned. The only issue is everything that s done in a gym is with your running shoes on! Running and skating are two totally different types of muscle movements. You can t play hockey with your running shoes on. So if you had an opportunity to work out on the ice with your full equipment on, why wouldn’t you?

Powertech is Proud to introduce Gym on Ice! (G.O.I)

Were bringing to you everything you can do in a gym but on the ice!
Speed, Power, Endurance, Quickness, Agility, Balance, Core Strength and more. The best part about the G.O.I system is everything accomplished on the ice where the game is played.

Here s how it works:
Each player is partnered up with another player, everyone is assigned a designated station which is numbered around the ice surface. Every interval is timed the player does the set work out for the allotted amount of time. Once the whistle blows, they change with their partner, and it starts over again. Once both did the activity they both rotate to the next station where a different work out is designed and the process starts over again.

	  RUN THE GAUNTLET WITH POWERTECH!

OVERSPEED

What is Overspeed?

Overspeed is when an athlete moves his or her body or parts at higher than normal competitive speeds. An Overspeed workout requires players to skate at speeds 8-13 percent faster than they are capable of. Overspeed is an on ice training method which is designed to keep athletes feet in constant motion at a 100% work load on their legs, using crossovers, pivots, and half pivots. This consists of both forward and backward skating.

Why Overspeed?

Overspeed forces dedicated athletes to be pushed outside their comfort level by repetitive crossovers to attain maximum speed and co-ordination resulting in peak performance!
Overspeed is not for everyone. It is very challenging as your legs take a heavy work load in a very short amount of time. This type of training is for dedicated hockey players only! Videos and overspeed training camps are soon to follow!!!

“Ready to accept the challenge?”

Powertech Members,

Mark and I are excited and proud to spread the news that our owner Andy Paquette will be travelling to Russia for two weeks to run The Igor Larionov Road To Success Development Camp in Moscow Russia. This Camp is an invitational camp that will include the Top Russian players born in the 97-95 age groups as well as invited junior and proffessional players.

Here is a couple of quotes from Andy:

"I had a goal that one day I would teach in Russia, I just didn't think someone like Igor Larionov would be the one who would ask me".

"Igor asked me through an NHL Hockey Agent (Ian Pulver) if he could have his son skate with my Belle Tire 97 team, he also brought and continues to bring other Russian players out to train with us, after the second skate, he asked me if I would come to Russia with him and run his development camp. He gave my training a lot of compliments and it is an honour to have someone that accomplished in the world of hockey pay such a huge compliment".

"I have always tried to teach the game and be the best I can be for my students and to treat people right. I have tried to build my hockey business with integrity, energy and passion. I believe in my heart of hearts that if you do something properly and with integrity for a long period of time, one day time will prove you right. It has been years of hard work and I don't get too excited about too many things, but I am truly excited about this".

"Next year I am planning on bringing Mark with me to bring his world class skating to Moscow. Mark is a hidden gem".

Keep visiting www.powertechhockey.ca to see images and video of Andy in Moscow.
