Why do so many athletes lose speed and power on the ice?

  1. Poor efficiency
  2. Weak leg strength
  3. Poor muscle recruitment

Now using the Woodway Skating Treadmill, athletes can have every stride watched and critiqued, and through PowerTech’s stride efficiency program, improve their muscular endurance and strength.

Skating Treadmill

Cross Ice 3v3
Cross Ice hockey is a far superior training and developmental game.  Traditional hockey games provide little benefit from an improvement standpoint for players.  The main reason being most 50 minute games provide each player with approximately 15 minutes of skating time, 20 seconds of puck control time & very few shots on net! A cross ice 3-on-3 game gives the PLAYER exponentially more "touches" of the puck, more shots on net, more passes, more work defensively and goalies get plenty of shots.  Because there is no stoppage of play, significantly more skating. The players will need to condition themselves to skate, stickhandle and shoot much quicker. It is a form of "overspeed" training!  Even more important, this "overspeed" training is not just physical but mental! The players must think, react, and make their decisions much quicker than in a traditional game or full ice 3 on 3. Cross ice hockey is a game of speed!  Playing in smaller areas forces the player to skate quicker, stickhandle quicker, shoot quicker, and most importantly think and react quicker.  It conditions the player for improved speed in all aspects of the game.  Each participating player will experience exponentially more touches of the puck, more scoring opportunities, more quick changes in direction (skate edges & weight transfer) and repetition ...; the key to improvement.
